15 Georgia Plants Closing

Federal emission standards are being blamed for closing 15 coal-fired plants. This also accounts for 480 jobs in Georgia. They plan to close the power plants which will cut its capacity by 5 percent. Their intentions are to reduce the amount of air pollution. This decision will definitely affect people in the surrounding communities.

Mike Morgan accused of bribery

Mike Morgan was the former leader of the Oklahoma Senate. He was recently convicted on a Federal bribery charge. He was sentenced to five years of probation and no fines. The bribery charge had accused Morgan of accepting a great deal of money from an assisted living center. He also influenced the legislature that would have eased regulations on the nursing home industry in this state.

Refusing to register

An Afghanistan veteran recently wrote a letter to Us Sen. Diane Feinstein D California stating that even if there is a ban on assault weapons passed, he will not be registering his guns. Feinstein plans to pass this law which upsets this young man. He feels certain gun owners are being treated unfairly since clearly his intentions are only good. He is no longer serving but still owns several weapons, he fears they will be confiscated. What is the right thing to do with this?

Obama's Drone Warrior

Obama's top counterterrorism advisor, John Brennan, has been chosen to be the next director of the CIA. U.S. Special Operations Forces and the use of drones have grown, versus the use of military forces Ginst Al Qaeda and its allies. Brennan laid out the drone policy very in debt in April. He expressed that the drone strikes are legal under the Authorization for Use of Milotary Force passed by Congress after the attacks on September11.
