An Afghanistan veteran recently wrote a letter to Us Sen. Diane Feinstein D California stating that even if there is a ban on assault weapons passed, he will not be registering his guns. Feinstein plans to pass this law which upsets this young man. He feels certain gun owners are being treated unfairly since clearly his intentions are only good. He is no longer serving but still owns several weapons, he fears they will be confiscated. What is the right thing to do with this?
I think he's being a little unreasonable. First of all if his intentions are "only good" why should it be an issue to register his guns? And if he's not on duty anymore why does he need assault weapons? He has no use for them now. I just don't understand why he's making a big deal out of nothing.
